Two Locals Brewing Co.

Client Background

Two Locals Brewing Co. is Philadelphia’s first Black owned and operated brewing company. Founded by two brothers Richard and Mengistu. They started out as home brewers in the winter of 2016 and after perfecting their beers, their next milestone is now brewing as they prepare to open the doors to a brick and mortar brewery in Fall 2023.

Branding Identity

Two Locals commissioned Say Less to revamp their branding. They wanted a brand identity that represented their Philadelphia roots and Liberian & Jamaican heritage. Say Less took cues from the Liberian and Jamaican national colors to craft a color palette that captured the Two Locals vision. Additionally, a bold type lock font was created in the style of classic breweries to align the new business with the existing industry.  Two Locals specifically requested an icon with their silhouettes and the Liberty Bell that signified their tie to the city. The team delivered by designing two monograms that could live in different spaces or as one to create the Liberty Bell. After completing the brand design, The team continued collaborating with Two Local to craft beer can labels for their first publicly launched beers.
Deliverables for this project included: Brand, Merchandise, Packaging and Signage Design.
